What do I do if a domain I want is not available?

I want to start another blog for a different niche and all of the good domains in the .com are already taken.

What would you recommend if this is the case?

You can try to use a different spelling and that seems to be very common nowadays but I never liked that because some people are going to spell it wrong and go to another website. You can also try some of the other domain extensions that are now available.

Like most people, I prefer a .com domain for my sites but I do know that finding a good .com domain is not easy since most of the real good ones are long gone or are parked and the owner wants a hefty price for them.

You can try adding something to a word that you like or want or look into alternative spellings. That can cause issues sometimes but if you really want a .com then you may have to go that route.

Personally I would consider using a different extension since there are a lot of good domains still available in them and if most of your traffic is coming from search results, links or social media posts then you would probably be fine using one of them in most cases.

If you are sure that there is not a .com available for your need then you can always look into other available extensions to see what is available and appropriate to your needs.

If you will be getting a lot of type in traffic then it would be best to try to stick with a .com domain since this is what most people will type in by default.

I know there are many old domainers that would disagree with me but if you can't find a good .com domain then I would use one of the new extensions that are out there that is a good fit for your need.

Unless you might sell the domain later on then it should not make too much difference these days.

If you were to find a good domain in one of the new extensions then I think it would be better than using some junk .com that doesn't have the same visual appeal.

I am not sure if using a different spelling would be a good choice because I do not want people to go to the wrong website that has the correct spelling.

I may try some other domain extensions to see if there is a good one I like.

I have been considering the idea of adding something to a name that I like.

I think that it would be mostly just clicks on my links so I may consider another domain extension.

If the people will just be clicking on links to your website then it should not matter but if they are typing it in then it might get them to go to the wrong website. You have to figure out which they would maybe do the most.

Have you tried different variations of the word or words you are wanting? You may have to look more completely if you really want a domain with a .com. If not then you can look for one of the other available extensions for domains.

I think they would be mostly using links to get to the website but I am not certain.

I have tried some variation and even words that mean the same thing but all the ones I have thought of are taken. I may just have to use a different extension perhaps.

Since there are so many websites these days it is often easier to find a good domain in a newer extension. I see a lot of websites that are using these new ones so I think it may be acceptable if no others are available to fit your needs.

If it will be mostly links then I don't think it will matter too much so I would just get a good one and not worry if it is a .com or not.

I have been thinking about getting started with some other niche to try to see if it is more successful for me and I have been trying to find a god domain that is available. It is hard to find a good one so you have to be creative and maybe add a word to the beginning or the end of the name you like.
