Do Wordpress themes affect SEO?

Almost everything on a website has the potential to affect it's SEO but many things will not have big impacts. If a theme you use has poor programming and doesn't use the best code then it could affect the speed or some of the functions of the site and that could affect SEO.

Most of the good theme developers should be using good programming methods so any kind of affect should be small one way or another.

The theme that I am using seems like it is a fast one to load so then does that mean it helps the seo for my blog?

I changed my theme for my blog 2 or 3 weeks ago and it is getting more traffic soon after that so it might have made some difference with the seo. Maybe with the loading time for my blog because the new theme is faster to load my pages.
