High commission vs low commission

Many of us affiliate marketers have done that even if they won't admit it.

I think probably most people do because they want to make as much money as they can and they think the higher commissions the see means more money. It does not usually happen though.

Personally I put the two banners and hope to make a sale.you're not the buyer and definitely not a soothsayer to know what your visitors want.So you just place the ad banners strategically and hope that a sale comes through them whether high or low price.

If there is not demand or a low demand then it doesn't matter how much the commission is because you won't be selling many or maybe not any at all.

If you know you will make enough sales then go for the high commission for sure but if you do not think you can sell them easily then go for the lower ones that will sell better.

Should it be 2 different advertisers on the banners or the same advertiser with 2 different ads?

Then you just have to try to do some things different or try out different things to promote. You will get the success you want if you stay with it and try other things until you make it big.

It doesn't matter if you make a Million dollars a sale if you can't sell what the thing is.

I agree with you. I was not thinking like that when I first started doing my marketing but I have learned this over time.

We all learn many things over time by doing things and learning from our mistakes. Going for the high commission things first is only natural because we all want to make as much money as we can.

I agree with that because many people I talk to have done that too. Now I am trying to just use things that will sell more so I can make more money over time.

Then I don't know why they are not working for you better. I am still too new to some things and have to get more experience so I can know some of these things better.

Can you maybe talk to the people at the affiliate networks and ask them questions about that?

I have asked some questions from the affiliate managers and they were very nice and helpful. You can try and see what they can say.

I would go with which one will give you the best overall total commission amounts. Meaning that if you were promoting something that you got $10 each for and could sell 20 or something you got $100 each but could only sell one then go for the $10 item.

If the higher commission one would make more overall money even with less sales then go with that one.
