Is guest blogging good or bad for SEO?

I am thinking about having some people do guest blogging on my blog to maybe help it get better search engine rankings but I don't know if that is good for SEO or bad for it.

Several years ago we used to do guest blogging and the blog owners would exchange links. It used to work out very well for both blogs because it helped with the rankings of both. You just want to make sure that you are not linking back to bad sites or that might hurt the SEO of your own blog.

Guest blogging can be good or bad for a site depending on if the sites that you are linking to/from are good, relevant, quality sites and the links are appropriate.

If you are getting links from a bad site then guest blogging can actually harm your site so use caution.
